- (12-20-97) Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (Joe trying to make this out like it's a Christmas special is an absolute delight. Also a delight is him constantly complaining about the editing done in this. And you know what, he's right. The cuts are a little out of hand, especially considering on the normal TNT broadcasts of some of the films in this franchise a few years later they'd be WAY more lenient with the gore shots. But him complaining about it is genuinely hilarious ("do you realize the problem of watching a Friday the 13th movie for THE STORY...") so IMO it's worth it. Also worth it, Joe Bob going on a monologue that nails the reason these movies always did well at the box office) [OC/CC-2/B-]

And yes, this is the infamous shitshow episode that was such a disaster that Lorne Michaels flat out refused to allow it to be reran or placed in syndication. Fascinating TV in a behind the scenes way but otherwise this isn't worth the hype you've heard about it. The highlight is Louise's bit at the end of the show where it's just her on stage monologuing about where her life has been lately and how it all relates back to Mary, genuinely one of the best bits in the entire show at this point.

- (7-24-76) 23. Louise Lasser and Preservation Hall Jazz Band (This is the broadcast master version with national commercials and full instrumental music breaks for when there's no national commercials. At the least give that part a watch. It saves the episode frankly) [SMw/OC/CC-1/B]
